Eight Leafed Clover Wedding // Kaitlyn and Taylor

Kaitlyn and Taylor’s wedding at Eight Leafed Clover in Risingsun Ohio was so lovely! The venue is a charming family-owned bed and breakfast, managed by Sarah and Mike Rainey-Smithback who live on the property with their 6 children - hence the 8-leafed clover name! The ceremony space is a beautiful open lawn nestled between beautiful oak, pine, and maple trees, and includes a lovely covered pavilion where the bride and groom can exchange their vows. The Reception Barn is the perfect rustic space for dinner and dancing that can accommodate 150 guests.

Katilyn and Taylor’s big day at Eight Leafed Clover was a fun and relaxed celebration with their closest friends and family, and we had a wonderful time documenting the day for them!

Scarlet Oaks Estate Wedding // Lindsey and Brian

We were thrilled to have the chance to photograph another wedding at a venue that we hadn’t previously been to, Scarlet Oaks Estate! This beautiful family owned and operated event venue is one of Findlay’s most sought after wedding locations. The historic barn and beautiful manor house sit on 13 acres, and make a gorgeous setting for ceremonies and receptions. Despite the rain on Lindsey and Brian’s wedding day, Scarlet Oaks Estate offered no shortage of beautiful backdrops for photos.

from the Bride :

I was born in Alaska (but have lived mostly in Ohio), and Brian is from Ireland, moving to Ohio in 2011. We met in Dayton, Ohio through mutual friends and instantly hit it off. We drove my dad’s truck to Alaska in December 2016 and after surviving that, we figured we could stand anything life threw at us, so long as we had each other. Brian popped the question on the rooftop where we first met in Dayton, Ohio and we’ve been looking forward to the big day ever since!

Special wedding details and DIY elements included the Save the Date cards, flower arrangements, and table settings all made by my aunt. She also made our bouquets and handmade some of the flowers from my mom and grandmother’s wedding dresses.

My dad and uncle used my great-grandpa’s recipe for homemade clover blossom wine for the dinner toasts. My aunt made a special label for the bottles as well. There will be a bottle at each wedding table for guests to share.

Below are some of our favorite images from Lindsey and Brian’s beautiful Scarlet Oaks Estate Wedding.

The Summit Event Center Wedding in Downtown Toledo Ohio

Thank goodness it didn't rain on Kylie and Corey’s wedding day so that they were able to get married at the Agnes Reynolds Jackson Arboretum in the Old West End of Toledo. The location was meaningful to Kylie since her grandparents had memorial stones engraved with their names on the path leading up to the gazebo where the ceremony took place. The forecast was gloomy but the rain held off just long enough.

The pair met in high school and were two years apart. Their relationship took off quickly after bumping into each other years later at El Camino (on Cinco de Mayo). A year later they moved to Chicago so that Corey could pursue a career in comedy. I loved that they incorporated elements of Chicago at the reception, which was held at The Summit Event Center in downtown Toledo, another venue that we finally had the opportunity to work at in 2019. The table numbers were shaped in a silhouette of the Chicago Skyline, and their wedding favors included gifts that were Chicago-based as well - Jeppson’s Malort Liquer, and Garrett Popcorn.

Beautiful Backyard Wedding in Sylvania Ohio // Roukaya & Ali

Roukaya and Ali’s wedding was celebrated at the home that Ali grew up in in Sylvania, Ohio. The backyard was transformed into a beautiful reception with silver and Tiffany blue accents. All of the decor was created by Roukaya and the Persian food prepared by Ali’s family. It was nothing short of magical!

Couple’s Story:

Our love story began in Chicago back in 2016. We spent many weekends back and forth to Cleveland, Toledo, & Novi. Along our journey, we welcomed a bengal kitten that has forever changed our lives. Ali popped the question in Novi, Mi on July 28th, 2018 at our new home. We are celebrating our love on August, 10th, 2019.

Wedding at The Stables in Whitehouse Ohio // Krissy & Greg

Story from the Bride:

Greg is a high school math teacher and coach at Sylvania Northview and I am a clinical research coordinator at the University of Michigan as well as nursing student at Mercy College. We have a dog, Oliver, who has been with me since I was a freshman in high school and may love greg a little more than he loves me, but I’m working on getting over that. We bought our house in Sylvania in June 2018 and have loved settling into the community and exploring the Toledo area.

Greg and I met due to our very own cupid and mutual friend, Dina. At the time, Greg was living in Washington D.C. and I was in Detroit. Greg came home for Thanksgiving in 2016 and Dina thought it would be a great opportunity for the two of us to meet. It happened to be at a bar watching the Michigan/Ohio State game and little did I know I would not only be meeting Greg, but his parents and sister as well. Talk about intimidating! Their presence though truly made me interested in him from the get go, because I could tell instantly that he was a family man and had such a big heart. After meeting that day, the relationship took off very quickly with both of us booking flights constantly to see each other until Greg moved home in July 2017.. We moved in together not long after in November 2017 and Greg proposed as we decorated our first Christmas tree as a couple. We celebrated the next day with our family and friends…exactly one year after we met. Our relationship has been a complete whirlwind and I still have to pinch myself to remember that it’s real. I am so lucky to get to call this amazing man mine and I love the life we have built together.

Nazareth Hall Wedding // Katelin & Steven

Her side of the story. | Katelin

Steven and I met in Fabrication Fundamentals class in college. As you can imagine, I had zero clue what I was doing and Steven helped me build my year-end project which was a cow made from sheet metal (a gift for my mom's garden). But, when he asked for my phone number the first time on Facebook Messenger, my response was “1-800-No.” As embarrassing as that is, it's a true story. Luckily for me, Steven has never shied away from a challenge. We stayed close friends throughout college, but we didn't start dating until four years after we first met. Listen, you gotta cut me some slack. We met in the prime of my young, dumb and selfish 20-something years.

But, you know that quote, “It was always you.” Yup, that pretty much sums it up. It was always Steven. After going our separate ways after college, dating other people and chasing our career dreams, we actually sadly enough ended up reconnecting at the funeral of our favorite college professor.

On our first date, Steven wore a terrible plaid shirt, cuff links (yes, seriously), stone wash jeans and basketball shoes and I got sick from the food and made him pull over so I could throw up on the way home. That may sound terrible, but it’s actually the perfect story to describe our relationship. It doesn’t matter what life throws at us, with Steven, it’s simple and it’s easy.

He’s a calming presence to everyone around him. He’s one of the hardest working people I have ever met and that includes working at our relationship. His love is unconditional and unwavering even when I’m unrealistic and unlovable. He makes life’s simplest moments like going to the grocery store fun. He writes me love notes in my lunchbox, knows not to come out of the gas station without a snack for me and got three years worth of allergy shots so he could love my cat Boberry better. He spoils me when I least deserve it, has the patience of a Saint and acts as my flat line when I’m completely off the charts. I’ll never understand how or why he does it, but I adore him for it.

It has always been you and it will always be you. I love you, Steven.

-Katelin

His side of the story. | Steven

I remember sitting in class at college and a good friend of mine was telling me about this girl he met in one of his other classes. He was going on and on about how she was blonde, good looking and raced go-karts. I immediately wanted to meet this girl. Well, the time came when I finally had fabrication class with the mystery girl. I quickly found out that she was everything he had described and so much more. She was from a small town just like me, she was close with her family and super down to earth...and you guessed it, her name was Katelin. She would hang out together with our group of friends and come over to my house to ride four-wheelers on the weekend. I had never met someone who enjoyed doing all the things I enjoy doing so much. Sounds like it was happily ever after, right? Not so fast. Katelin put up a good fight for four years until she finally fell for my undeniable charm. Ha! In all seriousness, I never gave up because I knew in my heart that if it wasn't her, there wasn't one for me. She rolls her eyes when I say that, but it’s true.

Fast forward to now and we are still best friends, spending every minute we can together. She keeps me grounded every time her eyes light up at life’s simplest things like a fountain Coke from McDonald’s and when she sees cows in a field. Katelin is one of the most independent and smartest girls I’ve ever met. She pushes me to chase my dreams while chasing her own just as hard. From her helping me completely remodel, design and decorate my house to me fixing and building things for her antique business, I love having her on my team. She’s my best half. I wouldn’t and couldn’t imagine spending life with anyone but her by my side. I love you Katelin and can’t wait to cry when I see you walk down the aisle on our wedding day. You mean the world to me.

Renaissance Hotel Toledo Wedding // Rachel & Matt

Story from the bride:

We met randomly at a night at in a bar in St Pete in April 2016. It was a random night our for me and my friends and Matt was down there on Spring Break and for Baseball spring training. We both had a really great time but didn't think much of it. Matt lived in Toledo and was going home on Monday. However, a few weeks later after Matt got a new phone (he lost his phone in the ocean) he started texting and calling. As we got to know each other Matt decided to come back to florida for a weekend in mid June. After an amazing weekend, I ended up going to Toledo for my first time for the 4th of July weekend. From there we went back and forth about every 2 to 3 weeks alternating locations. After about 9 months of this back and forth, I put my house on the market in St Pete and talked to my boss about letting me work remotely from Toledo. I had several other coworkers who worked remotely so it was pretty common at my company. By Memorial Day my house was sold and I was living in Toledo.

Wedding at Highland Meadows in Sylvania // Alyson & Tim

Story from the Bride:

We met in college at The University of Toledo in 2012 (I was a freshman, Tim was a sophomore). I took a Human Geography course at the last minute and Tim was in the class. I recognized Tim from our class later that day when we ran into each other at the Rec center, and we chose to sit together in class from that day on. We went to a Dayglow concert with a group of mutual friends, ended up alone at the concert and danced the night away together - officially beginning our relationship. We got engaged on April 1, 2017 in Detroit at a park on the water. Our wedding day marks exactly 5.5 years together.

Bride’s theme for the wedding:

I would describe our theme as Vintage & Romantic, our colors are blue, gray, and pink. We created painted frames, table numbers, and our cursive wooden Mr. and Mrs. signs.

Toledo Country Club Wedding // Amanda & Phil

Story from the Bride, Amanda:

We crossed paths for the very first time in 2014 in uptown Charlotte. It would not be until several months later we would meet again and start dating. God’s timing is perfect and it was especially clear when Philip and I met again. Our chemistry was undeniable and from our very first date we were inseparable. Philip grew up in Toledo, OH where my dad was born and raised. Little did we know we were right around the corner from each other every Christmas since we were born. We only had to wait 20 some years to meet! When we first started dating I just finished Graduate school and Philip was living in uptown Charlotte. Around the time Philip and I re-met I was in the process of deciding whether Charlotte was where I wanted to be or if another city was more appealing. Our relationship grew more effortlessly than any I had ever experienced. I quickly knew I wanted to be wherever Philip was. Philip would drive to Mooresville where I was living at home with my parents after a day of work just to spend a few hours together. I would drive uptown to see Phil as much as I possibly could (that was a lot of gas money I didn’t have) I finally received the right job offer out of Grad school and moved closer to Philip in uptown. Our love for each other only grew stronger and we both knew early on we had found our "one." Philip asked me to be his wife on December 10th of 2016. He proposed at one of our favorite parks in Charlotte. Everything around me went fuzzy and I just kept saying oh my gosh, oh my gosh is this real? Those words perfectly describe every step of the way with Phil. He is the man of my dreams except he is real! Now, I can finally say I know what they mean by, “you know when you know!"

Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion Wedding Engagement Party

Nadia and Jamal’s story of how they met is short and sweet - they met through mutual friends and fell in love from their first conversation. They have been inseparable ever since. Their Glass Pavilion Wedding Engagement Party was gorgeous and included cultural elements, such as olive branches and the poppy, which is the national flower of Palestine. The beautiful colorful jars placed on tables as favors for guests were also handmade in Palestine. One of the highlights of the night was the cultural dance, which almost every guest at the party participated in! It was an amazing night and we wish the couple congratulations on their upcoming wedding that will take place in California.
